Rudy is known for his recurring role as Wesley on the Netflix series "Dear White People," and his four season run as Rudy the P.A. on "Jane The Virgin," as well as other roles on "Grace and Frankie," "The Lincoln Lawer." and "Family Reunion."
Rudy got his start in TV as a host on "Disney 365," a beloved interstitial program on The Disney Channel, as well as roles on "iCarly" and "Good Luck Charlie". A windfall career opportunity came when he was cast as a regular on the NBC medical drama "Heartbeat." Along the way he's had roles on "Speechless," "Veronica Mars" and the upcoming "Interior Chinatown."
Rudy was born and raised in South Pasadena, California and began exploring the arts at a young age, immersing himself in plays and musicals. He attended UC Santa Barbara where he received a research grant to study physical theater and puppetry. While studying, he took an interest in hyper-theatrical, multi-disciplinary story-telling with interest in immigrant and LGBTQ+ stories.
After college, Rudy worked with Tony Award winning companies like South Coast Repertory and East West Players, as well as Independent Shakespeare Company, Breath of Fire, and Playwright's Arena. His performance in "Angel of the Desert" at Studio SCR was called "sensitive and emotionally raw" by the OC Examiner and he won a Best Supporting Actor award for that role.
When he's not acting Rudy enjoys sketching, playing his ukulele, and writing.
